Who is Kent Clothier?
I’m the founder and CEO of Real Estate Worldwide, where I lead an amazing team of individuals that are focused on building disruptive systems that push the entrepreneur dream and the real estate industry forward.
I am the son of an entrepreneur and thus, I am serial entrepreneur by nature. Beyond that, I am a proud husband and father of three amazing kids. I’ve dedicated my business live and ventures towards awaking the human spirit in all of us and inspiring thousands of entrepreneurs to escape the “rat race” and create the dream lives that they’ve always wanted.
I stand for integrity, ideas, companies and products that allow entrepreneurs to not only “learn” what it takes to live a successful live on every level, but the tools and strategies to create real change on a daily level. I feel as though we have a gift and it is our responsibility to share that gift with the world and insure that people respond.I stand against the nay-sayers and the dream killers. I stand against ideas, dogma, and businesses that prey on the weak minded and in cultivating a “herd mentality”.
As a result, almost all of my businesses involve products and services that ultimately change human behavior to encourage budding entrepreneurs to expand their vision, enhance their lives, and shake off the emotional baggage from their past.
Through Real Estate Worldwide, I invest and build entrepreneurial focused education products and services that empower individuals to create real businesses, active and passive income, time freedom, and lasting change. Our goal is to help to “wake people up” to the real possibilities in today’s amazing real estate market and beyond. In our first 10 years, we have been able to have a positive impact on over 20,000 entrepreneurs around the world. Our mission for the next 10 years is to impact 2 million people and to change their lives and create our own “dent in the universe”.
Collectively, we have been growing like crazy and have employees throughout the United States and around the world.
Our History And My Story
1988 – 2002
I had an interesting upbringing in a very entrepreneurial family. My brother and I were literally taught that “good isn’t good, when great is expected”. And this philosophy has had a profound impact on me throughout my career. My first 13 years in business were amazing. I had the honor of being a part of a terrific journey that saw our little startup turn into a $1.8 billion dollar grocery and pharmaceutical juggernaut. A big part of our growth came from a simple concept that continues to be the genesis for our growth today. This concept was “Reverse Wholesaling” and has revolutionized the way we have done business forever. Being a leader of this team and experiencing this type of dynamic growth was one of the true honors of my life.
However, all good things come to an end and I left that company in 2000 and began the toughest and most painful 2 years of my life. I began a business that ultimately failed and cost me everything. It was one of the most powerful lessons that I’ve ever learned.
In January 2003
I began my real estate “career” by “flipping” my first property in South Florida. I made $8,200 and it was the beginning of an amazing journey. I read the books, attended the boot camps, applied the knowledge, found my passion, and the rest is history.
Within 18 months, I had “wholesaled” 91 houses throughout South Florida and was back on my feet. The first inside of me was burning bright, but I found myself still yearning to figure out the “next big thing” and how I could truly automate my business. My realization was that I “owned a job” versus “owning a business”.
I began focusing on working with cash buyers that wanted to purchase investment property for cash flow, versus the crazy “appreciation game” that was taking place in South Florida.
Within a few years, I was helping buyers from Florida purchase investment properties in Memphis, Tennessee – where my family was buying and selling single-family homes for cash flow. This was the beginning of Memphis Invest, which has since evolved into one of the most successful real estate companies in the country. Memphis Invest has now bought and sold over 3,000 properties, operates in 3 markets (Memphis, Dallas, and Houston), and manages over 2,500 properties for clients from all over the world.
I began 1-800-SELL-NOW to help more real estate entrepreneurs to gain access to mass media marketing tools that were traditionally reserved for the “big boy” house buying franchises that were popping up all over the country. 1-800-SELL-NOW1-800-SELL-NOW FREE continues to help real estate investors and Realtors to gain a foothold in their market and quickly become a leader in lead generation, deal volume, and market exposure.
the market had changed dramatically and Memphis Invest was largely focused on cultivating and nurturing relationships with real estate cash buyers. By using our “Reverse Wholesaling” method and focusing on cash buyers, our real estate business never suffered a down turn – even during one of the worst financial meltdowns in American history.
In automating the process for finding cash buyers and systematically marketing to these buyers, Find Cash Buyers Now was born in 2009. Find Cash Buyers Now was our first venture into the software industry. This one system revolutionized the entire real estate investing industry and changed investing forever.
Find Cash Buyers Now and 1-800-SELL-NOW were being used by real estate entrepreneurs from all over the country. Through a joint venture with Jason Medley, we decided to solve the next biggest challenge in the industry. We used our data mining tools to systematically find “true private lenders” in almost every market around the country. We had now stumbled upon our real passion … we were destined to provide the best marketing tools and information in the real estate industry. These tools were designed to solve the biggest challenges facing any new investor or realtor in the market.
we began formalizing our education platform and Real Estate Worldwide was born. By 2014, our advisors were assisting students in markets all over the country. From business setup, marketing, hiring and firing, to systems, and management – our business advisors were coming into our students operations and helping bring these dreams into reality.
2012 was also a pivotal year for us with our last and most powerful software tool coming online. Chris Richter, a highly successful real estate wholesaler and student of mine, brought me the idea for Find Motivated Sellers Now. This one tool has again solved the single biggest challenge facing the current real estate industry. After the hedge funds and run on foreclosures, the market had changed dramatically. The “lack of inventory” was the most pressing issue on investors and Realtors alike. Through Find Motivated Sellers Now, this challenge was overcome and in a BIG way. Find Motivated Sellers Now brought a completely different twist to finding inventory. Suddenly, the entire industry could catch a glimpse of the “vacant property” inventory from anywhere in the country. This had never been done before and it is one of my proudest achievements along with Chris.
Lastly, we created The Time Is Now Project in 2013 as our way of giving back to our communities and the world at large. The Time Is Now Project was created after a powerful trip that I and one of my business partners, Heather Obrien, took to the impoverished country of Haiti. This trip had a profound effect on both of us and The Time Is Now Project is dedicated to providing support and assistance to children’s charities dedicated to education, clean water, and adequate nutrition throughout the world.
What Drives Kent Clothier?
When Kent Clothier is not following his life’s passion of speaking at national real estate, entrepreneurial or personal development events, he can be found at his beach home in La Jolla, California with his wife Seema and their three beautiful children, or away soaking up the sunshine of life on one of their frequent family vacations.
In addition to family, friends and “living a life according to design, rather than default”, Kent is extremely passionate about philanthropy and, as a result, started The Time Is Now Project, which aids orphans in Haiti and also assists needy families on the home front in the United States. Donating thousands of dollars and making sojourns to Haiti each year, Kent encourage his students, his family, his team, and coaching clients to do the same, teaching often that success without giving back is a success incomplete.
