If you want to be the best you can be in flipping houses or real estate wholesaling; who should you be surrounding yourself with? The answer might not be what you think!
The most successful entrepreneurs, leaders, business owners and investors use their time very carefully, and are very selective in who they spend their time with. Who you spend your time with will definitely influence your results in wholesaling and flipping houses. It will directly impact your brand, volume, revenues, growth, and your life.
Most don’t get this right. That’s it one reason that there is such disparity in the 99% and 1%. It is so important that there is even a rule given to it. Some call it the ‘The Rule of 33’, or ‘the 33% rule’. Hot social media influencers and Ted speakers like Tai Lopez use it. But it is also used by leaders like Trump, and dates back to biblical times, more than 2,000 years ago. The concept is that you should be dividing your time by spending 33% of it by surrounding yourself with 3 different types of people. So, who are they, how do you pick them, how do you do it?
- Those Who Will Lift You Up
If you’ve already done some reading and learning about self-development, business, and real estate, you’ve already heard that you should be spending time with those who can help lift you up, and help you grow. If you want to elevate your thinking, connections, and opportunities, you’ve got to surround yourself with successful people. It’s why leaders like Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffett, and Bill Gates hang out together and form ‘billionaires clubs’.
This group is your mentors, coaches, and trainers. Every successful person has them. Even Tony Robbins, presidents, and Warren Buffett have all had their mentors. They are the first to give them credit, and admit they wouldn’t have gotten where they are without them. You may be a genius, incredibly talented, and a fast self-learner. It doesn’t matter. There are people out there who can help you take great leaps. They often know what you don’t know, that you don’t know.
There are a number of ways to find these individuals, connect with them, and benefit from what they have to offer. Just keep in mind that these highly successful individuals are very careful with their time too. They’ve had to be to get where they are. They have to be to stay on top and grow. They are entitled to it, because they have invested years of their own time, and often hundreds of thousands of dollars in building their knowledge and skills. And despite how generous they are and want to be, they are also often hammered by thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands and millions of other people like you who want their time.
One of the best and most straightforward ways to get access to these people is to pay them for mentorship. Many have invested millions in creating training and mentoring programs. Not to just make money, but because it is an efficient way to share what they believe is most important for you to know.
If you can’t make that level of investment, maybe you can donate to a cause they are passionate about and involved with, or can volunteer with a charity they do. Maybe you can become a customer of theirs at another level and work your way up as you learn and get their attention. For example; buy their book or course, or start following them on social media.
For those still trying to get out of the rat race and into real estate wholesaling or flipping houses, maybe you can even work for them. If you are a restaurant server, go work at restaurants your mentors eat at. If you are an administrative employee, see if they have any job openings. If you are a designer, pitch your ideas for a better website design.
- Your Peers
The best part of being in real estate isn’t some far off end result. It is the journey. They journey is a lot better when you’ve got some others along for the ride. It’s just like a road trip, going to Disney, or heading to a concert. It’s always best when you have your family or friends with you. It makes it more enjoyable. In real estate and business it can make all the difference in sticking to your mission, and getting the best results at every stage. It can make the trip to growth a lot faster too.
These are other real estate investors, real estate industry professionals, small business owners and entrepreneurs. Find them at networking events, do your own outreach with mail or email or in-person, go where they hang out, attend house flipping events, and even join local real estate investor clubs or Boardroom Mastermind groups. Collaborate, share ideas, and support each other.
- People You Can Help Pull Up
To complete this sphere of people you need to add in some people you can help level up too. You already know more than a lot of others. You have a lot more than millions of others. Look for ways to give, educate, train, support and employ. Just be wise with your time and get the most impact out of it.
