When you’re just starting out, the little things make the biggest difference.
One of the keys to success that I have come to appreciate is the power of your words.
I say it quite often “you speak your future.”
I work with new entrepreneurs everyday and they have no idea how much they are sabotaging their own business by using language that is self-limiting, powerless, and nothing short of pathetic.
To be successful, you have to own it.
Own every part of it.
OWN EVERY PART of the journey.
And it all starts with the language you use everyday. Instead of playing the victim and using words like “I can’t” – use phrases like – “I’m weak in that area but I’m addressing”, or “I’m choosing not to do that”, or “I’m not willing to address that right now.”
Simple changes like that (and thousands of others), give you the power back. They empower you to embrace the struggle and take an active role in the outcome, instead of playing the “powerless victim” card. (Which is significantly easier to do and what we are trained to do most of our lives).
You see, you are not a victim. You have chosen to begin a journey. A journey that 95% of people fail at. A very select few, have the drive passion, and will to survive and thrive.
What I know to be true is that regardless of whether or not you change your language, one person is always listening to the words that come out of your mouth….and that’s you. So you decide. Which words would you rather hear?
