What if You Were Truly Master of Your Destiny,
Living a Life by the Design of Your Own Making?
The Good News is: You Are
Stop sitting around whining about your crappy job or your mediocre, barely-making-it-by business, the state of the economy, the current real estate market, the housing market shortage, the bills piling up, your lack of skill or education, or insufficient funds to do what you want, or need, to do in life.
Step up, step out and take control of your life, your finances and your future. Live your life by your own design; navigate your own journey.
The time is now. Success is yours if you decide it will be. There are a few imperative ingredients you need, such as a present state of mind, a surrounding of influential, successful people and a willingness to learn, but the magical, and often-illusive ingredient that you need most is ambition.
The first three seem easy and actionable enough, but the truth is not everyone possesses that intangible drive called ambition.
Look, the world is full of brilliant people who have terrific plans, ideas, education and intelligence. However, the reality is that most people lack ambition; 98% of people never follow through to turn their dreams or desires into reality because they lack simple, garden-variety ambition.
Countless reasons, often hardwired beliefs that stem from societal and familial messaging, are offered up to co-sign this lack of ambition:
• I can’t do it
• I don’t have enough time
• It’s too fast
• It will take too long
• I’m too old
• I’m too young
• It’s too easy
• It’s too hard
• I’m too educated
• I’m not educated enough
• I’m not certified or licensed
• I’m don’t have the skills
• Success only happens for bad people who are doing something unethical or illegal
• Success is only for the wealthy
• It’s not that important to me
• I don’t really care
And, ambition, though lacking, can be nurtured and developed. You can make a decision to change your thinking and, as a result, design your life, and have it as you would have it.
Once you have succeeded in taking control of your thoughts and letting go of the hardwired detrimental messaging that consumes too much space in your head and leaves little room for self-confidence, faith or drive, you will be able to proceed with developing ambition by setting some goals to achieve.
Start with the end in mind. Ask yourself some goal-oriented questions:
• What do I want?
• When do I want it?
• How much money do I want to make?
• Where do I want to live?
• What liberties am I seeking?
Try the perfect day exercise to get your goal setting process flowing.
When you begin with the end in mind, you have a concrete goal to reach for. At that juncture you can begin to make it happen, step by step, with methodical precision as you move forward to create the success that you know you want and deserve.
Create your life. Decide how you want to live. Make a decision to live by design and refuse to live by default. You are the only one standing in your way.
