Happy Holidays and Happy Giving #1000layaways
It’s that time of year again, and I’m pretty excited to say that the seasonal layaway pay-off tradition that my wife Seema and I started with our kids, years ago, has gone viral.
Each year our family heads for the nearest Toys R Us where we ask to pay off the layaway plans of needy families. This has always been an anonymous expedition, but last year my business associate, and friend, Brad Costanzo joined in the fun, and then posted his experience to Facebook; from there, it got lots of attention and inspired others to do the same.
Boosted by the hashtag: #1000layaways, the idea, and the inspiration to give back, is spreading like wildfire. Comment after comment, likes and shares are piling up as our team members, students and business associates do their part, and then post to social media to encourage others to follow suit.
As you know I’ve always encouraged my students, my team and my family to give back; success is just empty without philanthropy- that’s the bottom line.
Do your part; go out and pay it forward. Make someone’s holiday a little bit better this year by helping them make it for the kids. Then, take it a step further by sharing it with your network and encouraging them to do the same- be sure to use the Hashtag #1000layaways.
