Use Your Imagination to Manifest Success
When You Set Your Perfect Day
Success Unfolds One Day at a Time
The power of positive thinking is, without a doubt, one of the most powerful tools you can possibly have in your toolkit for manifesting success.
Not any kind of hocus-pocus or mystical process…. this is, in fact, a success secret that has been known and used by some of the worlds’ most successful entrepreneurs, thinkers, movers, and business people in the history of mankind. Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie are just a few who knew this secret to success and implemented this tool of manifestation through positive thinking and goal setting.
Nevertheless, if you don’t know what you want, you can literally think yourself all over the place and sometimes manifest some not so good results. The universe listens and responds to our thoughts, without consideration or judgment, and delivers.
Like so many stories of the genie in a bottle, where the unsuspecting man asks for his wish but doesn’t give details and ends up with some unexpected consequences, the universe responds in kind. If you simply say, for example, “I want to have plenty of money” but you don’t specify how much, for what or in what time frame, you may find you have plenty of money to buy groceries or pay the rent but not enough to really live your dreams.
One of my favorite exercises, and one that really gets the goal-setting frame of mind in place, is the Most Perfect Day exercise. In this exercise you are able to map out your perfect day; what your perfect day would look like in the life you dream of. With this process, you can really get a detailed vision of what you want in your life, thereby extending that energy and thought manifestation out to the universe, your personal genie in a bottle, so that it can respond in kind.
Many times when one is asked to describe their perfect day, they begin by stating fanciful vacation-type days. For example: “My day starts with breakfast in bed and then I lay in a hammock on the beach all day while beautiful people bring me cocktails with umbrellas and entertain me”.
While this sounds like an awesome day, what the exercise is really asking is for you to describe a perfect day in the future of your dreams. An everyday kind of day that includes work, if you love what you do (or the work you wish you were doing), time with your family, a description of your home or homes, your partner, your meals, your lifestyle, your business and your state of mind.
The exercise is easy and fun, but more importantly it can be extremely revealing. Most people have a vague idea of what they want in life, but when you sit down with a pen and paper and write it all out, it can be surprising to find that you get a little clearer about what your values are and where your priorities lay.
How to do it
Sit down with a good old-fashioned pen and piece of paper. To really start the creative juices flowing, write a few questions out that will help you get to where you want to be with this exercise. Questions like:
• How much money do I want to have in the bank that doesn’t do anything other than grow with interest and create more wealth for me?
• How much income do I want to have each month?
• Where do I want to live?
• What kind of house do I want to live in?
• Who is my partner and what does my partner look like, act like, believe in, value, do for a living, do for fun or do with me, or for me; emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and physically?
• What are my hobbies?
• What do I do for fun or entertainment?
• What is my lifestyle?
• What do I do for work?
• Do I own a business and if so what is it?
• Where am I at spiritually, emotionally and intellectually?
In minute detail, start writing about your perfect day. Describe everything about it from the moment you wake up in the morning (or afternoon!) till the moment you close your eyes for sleep; and don’t forget to describe your sleeping space and your quality of sleep. Don’t leave out anything.
When you do this exercise, you will be astounded (just as I was when I did it) as the details of your perfect day begin to manifest in your perfect life. Manifest success. You can do it by changing your thinking and knowing exactly what you want.
